How to Clean the Nesco Dehydrator Parts and Trays in Dishwasher?

Before putting the trays and parts in the dishwasher, always check whether they can be wash in the dishwasher or not. Few models can be cleaned only with hand and the soapy water. While cleaning the Nesco dehydrator in the dishwasher, put the trays of the machine in the dishwasher’s top rack. Take out the parts and trays before the commencement of the drying cycle as they can get melt in the high drying temperature of the dishwasher.

Besides the trays and the other parts, you cannot wash the base and the cover of the machine in the dishwasher. These parts of the machine are not waterproof and dishwasher safe. You should not submerge them inside the water.

There are few additional parts of the Nesco dehydrator like liners, fruit leather trays, Clean-A-Screen and Add-A-Tray that possess their particular washing necessities. You have to read their direction for cleaning before putting them in the dishwasher or before washing by hand.  We will not recommend washing them in the dishwasher. Try to clean the plastic trays separately from the clean-a screens or polyscreen tray inserts so that they can quickly get fit in your washing sink.

What to Do If The Nesco Dehydrator is not Dishwasher Safe?

If your Nesco food dehydrator is not dishwasher safe then, you are allowed to clean it with the hands. You can wash its cover and the trays with a soft brush or cotton cloth. Before cleaning the trays, soak them in the warm water for around 15 minutes so that the additional food particles can get off effortlessly.

But, keep in mind that you should not use the metal objects, sharp utensils, or the scouring pads over the dehydrator parts or trays. You can use a mild washing soap or detergent. The base of the machine can be clean with the damp cloth but only after disconnecting it from the wall socket.

Final Word

Cleaning the dehydrator and its parts in the dishwasher makes your cleaning work easy and stress-free. You don’t have to spend much time in cleaning, and the drippings on the trays and the parts also get off without any effort.

Before cleaning the Nesco dehydrator parts and trays in the dishwasher, always read the features of the products and directions of cleaning in the manual book.
